NEWS: January 31, 2006 \\ Two Pairs for a Full House
We are starting to 'ramp up' (I believe this is the correct term) for the new year and get a couple of gigs lined up. In fact we have adopted the Binary Approach, that is 2 gigs back-to-back in close geographical proximity. In Feb we have 1 in Bishop Auckland followed the next day by one in Boro for Uberfest 5. Then at the start of March we have one in Stockton followed by one in Darlo the following day. The Binary approach is especially useful for a band spread over a 250 mile area. Of course this means we'll probably never do any again after this pair of pairs.- posted by :: pellethead :: January 12, 2006 \\ Surprise Surprise Last night we did a surprise birthday gig for Nathan 'Right' Stephenson. The man who is single-handedly responsible for recording the vast majority of Pellethead recorded output. And with a happy coincidence it is also almost Nick's birthday (its a BIG one and its this Sunday), so we decided it would be a good time to celebrate that too. Oli Savant put the gig together at very short notice, choosen bands that Nathan had a fondness for. There was us, Brian Stevenson and The Danny Kebabs. And while Nathan was tucking into his birthday meal out we all descended on Doc Browns to prepare. The stage has now moved back to the other side of the pub, so we played in the same spot of our first ever gig. Nathan seemed genuinely touched by the surprise: "I've never had a surprise party before". And Nick seemed genuinely touched at not having to drive, so he could sup a couple of pints in honour of his birthday. It was a who's who of the Middlesbrough music Mafiosi. And much chatting and circulation took place. Top night. Many happy returns Nathan and Nick. And "Cheers!" Oli. - posted by :: pellethead :: news archives May 2005 June 2005 July 2005 August 2005 September 2005 October 2005 November 2005 December 2005 January 2006 February 2006 March 2006 May 2006 | |
