July 27, 2006 \\ Borevolver

Today is an historic day in Pellethead history. Today we perform our first ever cover version. God help us all.

The song is Taxman by The Beatles. We were invited by Nat of Das Wanderlust fame, who also works on Radio Cleveland's Pure radio show. They are doing a special to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the release of Revolver by The Beatles. We and a bunch of other bands have got to go and record live versions of all the songs off the album.

We've only had one practise on it, well 2 half practises, but we are a bit worried now because it has ended up sounding identical to the Beatles version. I mean they're probably expecting it to sound a bit different, that's the whole point. So we might have to purposely mess it up a bit.

That was of course a joke. Us bunch of imcompetent fools, well me, Shauno and Richie, haven't got a hope of approaching the original. So Taxman has deffo been Pelletheaded.

The mission has been further complicated by the fact that Richie is going to Brum tonight, Mike is going to a gig in Newcastle and I'm heading back down to Swindon to prepare for a visit by my parents. Luckily Nat has managed to arrange it so we can go on first. Thanks Nat! So we are recording it at 5:45pm today. Not sure when it is actually being broadcast, watch this space.

The other songs on the album are being covered by a litany of local superstar bands/Solo artists including Das Wanderlust, Idiot Savant, Billy Crystal's Water Pistol, Benjamin Wetherill, Soiled etc. The last band are meant to finish at 12:45am! Oh and we only get 2 takes apparently, God help us.
