Pellethead are a punk/post-punk/new-wave/no-wave/garage/basement
band from Middlesbrough in the North-East of England, that once heard
are never forgotten. They have been going for donkey's years and yet
continue to follow the path less travelled, or completely un-travelled
in fact. They have been compared to a diverse array of fine bands
including Pavement, The Fall, The White Stripes,
Joy Division, The Pixies, Devo and The Minutemen,
but they remain instantly recognisable as Pellethead.
They have toured the U.K. and the U.S. and have honed their live performances
to works of art and comedy. They abuse themselves and their instruments
with abandon, and leave the audience grinning. They have played The
Cavern Club, Liverpool and Bleacher Street, NYC, and everywhere in-between
including several festival appearances on both sides of the Atlantic.
They have self-released 5 albums and also had a split E.P on the small
One More Than Six label. And been played on radio in several countries
(as well as all over the World Wide Whatsit), including airings on
BBC Radio 1 by the late, great John Peel.
