PRESS:

“Classic punk performance-art from this Middlesbrough-based 4-piece.
Frantic guitar strummery; whacky lead guitar lines stemming from the two-note solos of the late 70's (think of the Buzzcock's Boredom); manic bass melody; thumping drums that thoroughly shock-wave the entire kit. The inevitable Fall comparison is not unfair, but there's far more fun in Pellethead than that curmudgeonly Mark E Smith bloke could ever deliver. Songs are about "real life" (whatever that is). Social observation of phenomena like "Paddy Badway" and Middlesbrough FC's "Defending too deep". The set wraps up with a consummate "wall of noise" collapse. Formation is: bass/ vocal; lead guitar/ vocal; rhythm guitar/ vocal (yup, they all sing lead); drums.
Pellethead's quirky punk is too good to miss. My heart and I agree. And I'm right. “

“The first act PELLETHEAD never fail to entertain. Their music is a fit of jerks, all angular guitar breaks, explosions of bass, projectile vocals all driven by a resolute engine of percussion.
Three front men, different stances, different styles interweaving in front of the human machine. There's Richie with his surreal observational lyrics, big hair and downward lo-fi guitaring; Al, skater postures, scratchy guitar and startled rabbit singing; and Shaun-o with the punk staccato, Northern Soul moves and bookish Joe Brown look.
All the while the piston-driven drums cascade on. It's an apparent mismatch that blends so well. Tremendous indie/alt/hardcore subpop songs with wonderful titles - Defending Too Deep, Fleethouse Breakout. Keep on keeping on, boys.”
“There's a thin line between chaos and genius, but Pellethead skate that line with gusto”
- Middlesbrough Evening Gazette newspaper (http://icteesside.icnetwork.co.uk/)

“I shove my way to the front I’m pleasantly surprised to hear a sound that excites me for once. It’s the sound of the Cramps minus Poison Ivy and B movie references. Pellethead are a northern band that manage to exude NY cool, through their jerky guitar led noise that would have once been called new wave”
- BBC website (www.bbc.co.uk)

“The night starts off in splendid fashion with Pellethead.  They sound like The White Stripes with a bit of Pussy Galore.  They’re going to be a hard act to follow and that proves to be the case.”
-The Bull and Gate website, Promoters Diary (www.bullandgate.co.uk)

“Pellethead mix garage rock and punk with a sense of humour – and with catchy guitars that force you to listen.”
- The Pittsburgh Press newspaper (http://www.post-gazette.com)

“Pellethead knocked ‘em dead on their American mini-tour with The Cuff… Among the highlights of their visit, Pellethead was able to stir up a Sunday night crowd at Kenny’s Castaways in New York City”
- In Pittsburgh arts newspaper (www.lonelyplanetboy.com/inpgh4.html)

“Thoroughly gritty and stunningly visual PELLETHEAD are engrossing on every level.
Detroit may have THE WHITE STRIPES but we’ve got PELLETHEAD.”

“Pellets are clean, easy to store and easy to use.  They come in convenient 40lb. bags and take up one third the space of cordwood.  Once you light the fire it stays lit.  All you have to do is pour a bag of corn or pellets into the stove's hopper once a day.  The residue is almost nonexistent.  Only 0.167% to 0.5% ash - that's over 99.5% combustion efficiency!  Most freestanding models will hold 1-2 months of ash when running 24 hours a day.”
